Maristella Casciato

Maristella Casciato is senior curator, head of Architecture Collections at the Getty Research
Institute, Los Angeles (2016-present). She was Mellon Senior Fellow at the Canadian Centre for Architecture, Montreal (2010) prior to being appointed associate director of Research at the same institute (2012-2015). She has curated several exhibitions on the planning of Chandigarh and published books and essays on the topic. Among her most
recent publications: The Metropolis in Latin America 1830-1930: Cityscapes, Photographs,
Debates, co-edited with Idurre Alonso (2021); Rethinking Global Modernism: Architectural Historiography and the Postcolonial, co-edited with V. Prakash and D.E. Coslett (2022).
