        • The Swedish Museum of Architecture 1962–1978: The Making of a National Museum of Architecture Het Zweedse Architectuurmuseum 1962–1978:

        Abstract
        In the 1960s, Sweden experienced the realization of one of Europe’s most ambitious industrialized national building programmes involving both housing and urban renewal. In this context, the Swedish Museum of Architecture was assigned to propagate the contemporary Swedish planning and building programmes to an international and professional audience.However, the museum was soon confronted with the complexity of a more self-proclaimed and contradictory task: to critically assess the reality of the welfare state’s built environment. This essay focuses on the seminal role of the museum in the history of Swedish twentiethcentury architecture while testing the disciplinary boundaries of architecture.
