        • Architecture in the Mix: Interdisciplinary Curating at the Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology

        Abstract
        The Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology (MAAT) has been repeatedly described as a contemporary art museum in which architecture, urban culture and technology provide a specific focus within the broader territory of current artistic production. This means that, while a collection of post-1960s Portuguese contemporary art constitutes its starting point, the museum explores the way in which contemporary artists provide a much-needed critical reflection on everyday social and political transformations – especially
        when they relate to architectural and urban issues, or echo the fast-changing impacts of today’s technologies. This essay discusses MAAT’s curatorial strategies while encountering new challenges that seem to be usual fodder in museum management these days.
