- Protean PrototypesUrban Platforms for Appropriation
- Abstract
- The speculative project Protean Prototypes is situated
within the contemporary urban conditions of injustice
and marginalisation and mobilises aspects of Lefebvre’s
concepts of ‘use’ and ‘appropriation’ as fundamental
practices in the production of urban space. Informed by
actor network and assemblage theories, the project seeks
to leverage the agency of things (such as urban artefacts,
infrastructures, instruments, organisations and networks)
towards the appropriation of public infrastructural space
and the creation of multiuse platforms that enable new
assemblages of access and urban possibility.
