- Abstract
This article discusses the contribution Scandinavian architects made in the 1960s and 1970s to the development of aid programmes in East Africa and Zambia. In addition it addresses how the ideals of the modern welfare state travelled to Africa and necessitated reflection on both prefabrication and adaptation.
