- The Glamorous and the Outrageous The Irish Prime Minister’s Residence
- Abstract
- In 1979, OMA took part in the competition for the residence of the Irish Prime Minister. Their proposal, as Daniel Tudor Munteanu makes clear in his text, does not reflect one aesthetic. Rem Koolhaas designed the guesthouse, and Elia Zenghelis the house. The two components – a spacious villa and a nondescript motel – were merged as a cadavre exquis. It shows the different attitudes
of the two partners in OMA at the end of the 1970s.
