        Abstract
        James Gowan’s drawing ‘Elevation on trance’ shows the Engineering Faculty (1957-1963), designed by Gowan and James Stirling, in an abstract way. The text suggests that the means used to design a building – in this case the graph paper as a base – can substantially influence the final result.
