Ward Verbakel

Ward Verbakel holds degrees in Civil Engineering Architecture (KU Leuven) and Urban Design (GSAPP Columbia University). As co-founder of the Belgian practice PLUSOFFICE, he works on various construction and design research projects ranging from the productive city, transitional processes and village urbanism to public buildings and housing projects. He’s currently coordinating the urban project Master’s Studios at
KU Leuven and is conducting doctoral research on the practice of Village Urbanism. He previously taught at GSAPP Columbia University, New York, and is president of the artistic board of A+ magazine in Belgium.
