Bernard Colenbrander

Bernard Colenbrander is emeritus professor of History
and Theory of Architecture at Eindhoven University of
Technology (2005-2022). He is a member of the board of
Koninklijke Nederlandse Oudheidkundige Bond (KNOB). Since
2020 he has been a member of the Integrale Kwaliteitskamer
in Antwerp. In the 1980s and 1990s, he worked at the
Netherlands Architecture Institute (NAi). His earlier publications include Stijl: Norm en handschrift in de Nederlandse
architectuur (1993); Referentie: OMA (1995); De Verstrooide
Stad (PhD dissertation, 1999); and Frans van Gool: Leven
en werk (2005). In 2015, in collaboration with sociologists
Ton Bevers, Nico Wilterdink en Johan Heilbron, he published
Nederlandse Kunst in de Wereld, a critical analysis of Dutch
cultural policy from an international perspective.
