Nieves Mestre
Nieves Mestre (PhD) is an associate professor at Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid (UPM) and works as an expert for the Research Executive Agency. Her research focuses on the requirements of ecology on architectural design beyond energy efficiency standards. She has led EU-funded projects such as Intelligent Energy EDUCATE (Environmental Design i jn University Curricula and Architectural Training), Climate KIC Act on NBS (Adaptive Cities for Nature Based Solutions) and Life PACT (People-Driven Adaptive Cities). She runs her own architecture practice COMBOlab, whose work has been awarded in competitions such as Europan (2008) and the EU Prize Mies Award (2011).
