Maria Silvia D’Avolio

Maria Silvia D’Avolio is a postdoctoral researcher in Architecture based at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW). She has cultivated an interdisci plinary background obtained from educational and professional experience in architecture, sociology and the social sciences. After studying architecture at the University of Florence (Italy), she obtained an MSc in Social Research Methods and a PhD in Sociology from the University
of Sussex (UK). She has been the convenor of the CITIES study group of the British Sociological Association (BSA) since 2020. Her research approach analyses intersecting inequalities in various contexts from a feminist perspective.
